Gold Nano Plating on Stainless Steel or Titanium
The gold 20nm plated stainless steel substrate sample.
In conventional plating, plating thickness is managed in micrometers. By substituting it with nano plating, which is 1,000 times more precise, we can reduce contact resistance with the necessary minimum film thickness.
Furthermore, the nickel base layer in conventional nickel-gold plating causes corrosion, necessitating a thicker gold film to counteract it. In contrast, direct gold plating improves corrosion issues and reduces contact resistance with a thin film.
Special Features
Reduction of contact resistance
It is possible to reduce the contact resistance of stainless steel and titanium with a minimum film thickness.
Electron micrograph of gold nano plating
Miniaturization and weight reduction
Due to the nano-level film thickness, we can make things smaller and lighter than with conventional micron-order plating.
