Gold Nano Plating on Stainless Steel or Titanium
The gold 20nm plated stainless steel substrate sample.
Generally, plating thickness is managed in micrometers. It is possible to reduce the contact resistance and acquire minimum thickness when it is substituted by nano plating. Nano plating is 1000 times more accurate.
Usually, the nickel base layer is the cause of corrosion in nickel-gold plating, a thick film of gold is required in order to compensate this. It becomes possible to reduce the contact resistance in the thin film while improving corrosion problems if it is directly gold-plated.
Special Features
Reduction of contact resistance
It is possible to reduce the contact resistance of stainless steel and titanium with a minimum film thickness.
Electron micrograph of gold nano plating
Weight reduction
Because of the nano-level film thickness, it can become more lightweight than usual plating.
